SAHIMS aims at improving access to
humanitarian information resources in the region,
facilitating data and knowledge sharing amongst
humanitarian actors and promoting best practices.
Acknowledging that country governments, NGOs, UN
agencies and international players need reliable data to
plan a comprehensive disaster response, SAHIMS.NET works
towards that effort as well as supporting longer term
sustainable information management practices for
recovery and development goals. SAHIMS has a comparative
advantage in three areas: Web Data/Information
Dissemination, Training for skills development
(Database, GIS, Data Analysis, Data Visualisation, Web
Internet Services and Communication) as well as Direct
Support to country partners. |
